  • Most of our Marshall's recently attended a skippers course which was held at the dam by Captain Dale Evans from SAPS waterwing division. This needless to say was an eye opener for all as the new law came into being in April 2007, and we have till April 2008 to comply.
  • This means that you must have a skipper's license and your boat registration done by August 2008, failing which you will be liable to a hefty fine, if caught.
  • In our safety meeting held on the 23rd October, where all resort owners around the dam take part, including the Waterwing and Bronkhorstspruit municipality, it was proposed that all resorts check for licenses and boat registration before allowing anyone to launch from their shores.
  • This rule already exists on coastal areas whereby you will not gain access to any resort with your craft unless you can produce a valid license.
  • You are therefore requested to make sure that you obtain your license and boat registration as soon as possible.
  • We are currently running courses on a regular basis and therefore you can book your course – This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
  • Guys please do not underestimate the course and the new ACT as this is a serious issue. You will also have to get a doctors certificate and an eyesight certificate together with 2 x ID photo's and a certified copy of your ID.
  • More info on the ACT can be obtained from our website, click onto links and go to: www.smallcraft.za.net.
  • NB: The Act applies to all motorized crafts over 15HP, which includes Jetski's!
  • Note that the Club does not profit from the course at all, but we do advise that you get this done as soon as possible to avoid the 'RUSH'.
  • Should you require any further details, please contact Danny.
